NAMAS 2021 E&M Auditing Webinar Event

Effective Provider Education in 2021 E&M
Speaker: Grant Huang, CPC, CPMA

This webinar examines the impact of the 2021 Evaluation & Management (E&M) guidelines on physician documentation and workflow in order to provide effective strategies on educating physicians to ensure compliance with these new rules for office/outpatient E/M services. We will review the major elements of the 2021 E/M guidelines from the physician’s perspective to better understand the challenges they face in adapting their documentation and explore the controversial question of whether any changes are really necessary. Finally we will discuss ways to create productive education sessions with physicians about the 2021 E/M rules.

Excellent presentation from the perspective of the clinician on the 2021 E&M changes. Very helpful to understand how providers think and interpret these guidelines.

Grant has always been on of my favorite speakers. He explained ERRATA better than anyone I have heard try to explain it and I wish more presenters would bring in the medically necessity piece. Providers hear based on time and run with it. It still has to be medically necessary. Providers think it is ok to spend 2 hours on a completely stable patient. I think a webinar would be most beneficial for the subspecialties who really do spend 2 hours on a patient, but again, it is necessary? If you or any of the other Namas speakers could address a provider spending 90 to 120 patients, what would you expect to see in the note??
