ED Service: Packaging Up the Audits

Emergency Services are complex especially when it comes to a level 99284 and a 99285.

We still use 1995 & 1997 and even more complicated with the use of the Marshfield Scoring Tool, not to mention a lack of clear-cut guidelines on certain phrases such as "additional workup".

This package has been created to provide printable or laminated reusable resource tools, along with webinar learning sessions specifically geared to ED services.

Here is what is included

☑ LIVE WEBINAR EVENT - This event will be held on Wednesday July 6th @ 12:00 pm EST and co-hosted by Shannon DeConda and Stephanie Allard. This event will be 90 minutes in length to allow for an educational refresher on ED services, but more specifically a QA roundtable. Questions may be submitted prior to the event, or live during the session to be answered, time permitted, during the event.

WEBINAR DESCRIPTION: The ED is one of those places of service where 1995 and 1997 DG are still utilizes and unfortunately many still apply the Marshfield scoring tool. Guideline changes may be promised in 2023, but carrier have been pushing audits on 99285 and 99284, and you should be sure when you can appeal and even request a third-party review whenever possible. This webinar is a rare 90-minute event in which NAMAS combines an instructor led training, Q&A interaction, and hands-on auditing into one mind blowing training sessions. It’s SO BIG - it takes 2 hosts - Shannon DeConda and Stephanie Allard. Join them as they also recount redacted examples from third-party reviews conducted by NAMAS and the variations of opinion on 99284/99285 between payor and provider.
