ED Service: Packaging Up the Audits
Emergency Services are complex especially when it comes to a level 99284 and a 99285.
We still use 1995 & 1997 and even more complicated with the use of the Marshfield Scoring Tool, not to mention a lack of clear-cut
guidelines on certain phrases such as "additional workup".

Guideline changes may be promised in 2023, but carrier have been pushing audits on 99285 and 99284, and you should be sure when you can appeal and even request a third-party review whenever possible.
